* Virtual Runs *
Just before the Covid-19 pandemic, marathons / runs / walks were all the rage. Every week, there would be events held all over the nation. Each week, my newsfeed will be filled with pictures of medal selfies. Yup. These events managed to adapt during the pandemic with "virtual runs". I love the virtual runs, to be honest. These runs - especially the ones that allow "steps collection" allow people with social anxiety (like me...) to join the usually very very social event. Lols.
One of the apps that MOH uses to encourage their staff to stay active is Bookdoc Activ. It is a step counter app which integrates "challenges" by sponsors and also other MOH departments or units. Some challenges have physical prizes - which you can join for free. The challenges are "steps collecting" challenges with various levels: some are 10k steps per day, some are less. It is fun especially when your own department is hosting a challenge. During the previous two PKD Seremban challenges, my clinic was especially enthusiastic about finishing the 300k steps in one month. Bookdoc also allows companies outside MOH to use its services for their employees. Oh also don't forget about the rewards you can get by staying active while using the app 😁
