* Jonah-ness *

The concept of "jonah" in the medical field, for me, is very simple:

لَا يُكَلِّفُ ٱللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۚ لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا مَا ٱكْتَسَبَتْ

On no soul doth God place a burden greater than it can bear. it gets every good that it earns, &it suffers every ill that it earns. | quran 2:286

This is the thought that kept me going during those nights when I had to run around the hospital and new cases come in like a flood into the ward.

I can do this.

Why?

Because it is happening. Because it is Allah's will.

Because of that ayah.

FYI, "jonah" is a term we use to label someone, who, when he/she is on-call, things will get very interesting.

Well, that is one way to look at it, right?
