Yesterday, I chatted with a friend and it made me wonder about the things people do to be accepted. A lot of people worry themselves silly because they think that they are different from others. They worry that people will not like them, they worry that they will be isolated and they worry that they will be bullied. So, they change. Why? So they will somehow fit in.

In the end, when they look into the mirror, they find out that they do not recognize the person who is staring back at them. They wonder if that image is actually them.

Here is a question; how far are you willing to go? How much are you willing to lose? Is it all worth it?

Whenever you feel different (and you are not endangering anyone by being slightly weirder), try thinking it as 'misunderstood'. Not 'weird', or 'freak', or 'different'. But, just 'special' or 'misunderstood'.

People need time to understand each other. They need time to accept one another. So, when you think that you want to change everything about yourself, stop. Stop and wait. Give all those people some time to see you as you are...and, then, decide what to do.

Don't just change all of a sudden and let go of everything that you care about...and, in the end, wonder if it was all worth it; to change, just to be accepted, by the people who do not know the real you.

As our tour guide once said, "The grand bazaar is like a labyrinth...so, don't lose yourself!" LOL.
