Vebezuela breaks off Israeli ties - AlJazeera
Just the other day, one of the students' society in our faculty, distributed a form to collect signatures for their effort in requesting the Egyptian government to change their foreign policies concerning Israel, to cut all diplomatic ties with the inhumane nation and to open the Rafah border. The representative told us that this is the least that we can do to help our brothers and sisters at Palestine.
But, sadly, when the forms arrived to us, who were sitting in the middle row, they were still empty. Here is a request that is not asking for money or time, here is something that needed us to only lend some of our pens' inks to show our support and to show that we care. We were really shocked to see the students laughing while shaking their heads while holding the forms.
It makes me wonder if we are really in Egypt (no wonder the president is still the same guy)...and in the faculty of medicine, where the students are supposed to be the best in everything. Don't they care? Or, are they thinking that this effort is useless? Nothing will change, they say. The government is corrupted, they sighed. The leaders will never listen to the people, they tell us. All this will just go down the drain, they presumed.
You know, in everything that we do, if we do not START doing it, then it will never ever happen. If we choose to think and presume and predict and suspect and put everything into consideration with never even an inch of action in it, of course nothing will happen and everything will stay the same.
Here is a tip: get over yourself and start doing something real for once.

Venezuela has joined Bolivia in severing ties with Israel in protest against its war in the Gaza Strip, which has left more than 1,000 Palestinians dead.
