* in search of a certain union *
(first of all...)

The day was Wednesday and the sun was high in the sky. The air was not so cold for a winter afternoon and everyone was so delighted. It was a promising day filled with hopes...sure. This is the start of our adventure...to Jordan.

Well, of course with any good story, this one starts with a plane ticket. So first stop: EgyptAir. We bought our tickets to Jordan!!! Yeay~ finally~ my purse is empty! Haha...thank God HSBC is just across the street. Heh.

Then~ our next mission is to find a Western Union branch that is supposed to be just around the corner. So we walked straight on [thank God it was not windy and the sun was not shining too hard on us]...and we stopped by a famous ice-cream & confectionery shop; el-Fayoumi! They say Mansoura has the best ice-creams and that is so true~~~~ so come by Mansoura anytime to enjoy our variety of ice-creams and to try the infamous 'Balilah'...wee~

After asking the cashier for directions to 'Torrell', we continued our journey~ Of course we had to finish our ice-creams first because you can never cross the street safely with ice-cream [ it's too distracting :P ]

So, after about 3 pictures or so, we got to the other side~ yeay! Our next victim was a couple of policemen standing guard outside the vice minister's [I dunno which minister] office..."Law samaht, feyn el-toreel?" "Eih?" It went kinda like that...but finally he understood where we wanted to go. So he showed us that we have to walk this way and then that way...sure sure. So our journey continued:

Finally, after asking a guy in a pharmacy and a guy in front of the Port Said bank, we found a 'Western Union' sign. Phew~ we got in, took a seat and waited for a while. Then, we asked about the procedures to send money using Western Union. The guy behind the transparent glass counter said, "First of all, you cannot send money from this Mansoura branch, you can only receive money here. If you want to send money, you have to go to either Cairo, Alexandria or Tanta." "Talkha?" [because they sound so much alike in Arabic] "TANTA."
Why Tanta?~~~~~~~~~~ ...why not Mansoura? Ada apa dengan Tanta? Hu~
So that was the end of our adventure on Wednesday, 12th December 2007.
Next stop: Cairo.
[not Tanta. Definitely not.]
